Greyhound and Mermaid Class  Thirty Knot Destroyers.  The Greyhound Class consisted of HMS greyhound and HMS Racehorse and HMS Roebuck and the Mermaid Class consisted of HMS Mermaid and HMS Cheerful. Although  they were classes built two years apart, they were basically the same design and also the same builder. Built by Hawthorne Leslie.  They weighed 355 to 385 tons, , 6,100 HP gave the required thirty knots. armament was a one 12 pounder and Two torpedo tubes. compliment of 63.

HMS Mermaid 22nd February 1898 Broken up in 1919.
HMS Cheerful 14th July 1897 Mined in 1917.

Greyhound Class  Destroyer

HMS Greyhound 6th October 1900 Broken up in 1919.
HMS Racehorse 8th November 1900 Broken up in 1920.
HMS Roebuck 4th January 1901 Broken up in 1919.
