The Rocket Class Destroyer were built by J and G Thomson at Clydebank, HMS Rocket was laid down on the 14th February 1894 and launched 14th August 1894 finally completed July1895. she was sold to the breakers in 1912.   HMS Shark was laid down 14th February 1894 and launched 22nd September 1894 and completed 1895 she was sold for scrap to wards of Preston in 1911. HMS Surley was laid down 14th February 1894 launched 10th November 1895 and completed July 1895. finally broken up in 1920.  All three destroyers served in Home waters

Displacement: 280 tons, Speed 27 knots,  Armament: one 12 pounder and two torpedo Tubes, Compliment: 53 

HMS Rocket 14th August 1894 Broken up in 1912.
HMS Shark 22nd September 1894 Broken up in 1911.
HMS Surly 10th November 1894 Broken up in 1920.
