Laperouse Class Unprotected Cruisers. Photographs and history of the French Laperouse Class Cruisers of the 1870's and 1880's including D'Estaing, Laperouse, Nielly and Primauguet. Wooden Hulled ships with Iron beams., these ships had Plough Bows with a forecastle. Displacement: 2363 tons, Speed 15 Knots Compliment: 264 Armament: Fifteen 5.5 inch M1870M guns, which were later replaced in Primauget with Quick Firing Conversions. also each ship had Eight 1 pounder revolvers.
