Gloire Class Armoured Cruisers. Photographs and history of the Armoured cruisers of the French Gloire Class. This class consisted of Amiral Aube, Conde, Gloire, Marseillaise and Sully, and was launched between 1900 and 1902. The Gloire class armoured cruisers were a improved version of the Gueydon Class Armoured cruisers. with a different layout for the secondary armament 6.4 inch guns. Speed: 21.5 knots, Compliment: 615 crew Armament: Two 7.6 inch M1893-96 guns, Eight 6.4 -inch Quick Firing M1893 -96 guns. Six 3.9-inch Guns 18 3 pounder guns and Two 18-inch torpedo tubes.

Amiral Aube | 9th May 1902 | Taken off active in 1922 and subsequently broken up. |
Conde | 12th March 1902 | Served in the Atlantic and took part in escort duty. She was part of the Atlantic Squadron. Taken off active in 1933 and used as a target. |
Gloire | 27th June 1900 | Served in the Atlantic and took part in escort duty. She was part of the Atlantic Squadron. Collided with the US Liner City of Athens in May 1918 but was repaired. Taken off active in 1922 and subsequently broken up. |
Marseillaise | 14th July 1900 | Served in the Atlantic and took part in escort duty. She was part of the Atlantic Squadron. She escorted the liner taking President Wilson back to America. Taken off active in 1929 and subsequently broken up. |
Sully | June 1901 | Wrecked in Along bay , Indo China, 30th September 1905 all salvage attempts failed. |
