KMS Nurnburg German Cruiser the only cruiser in the Nurnburg class. Served in 1936 as pat of the non intervention Force during the Spanish Civil war. On the outbreak of world war two in September the Nurnburg started mining duties in the North Sea. Moving to Norwegian waters.  then part of Fleet training Squadron and mining service in the Baltic.  in 1944 and 1945 the Nurburg assisted the Army and transported refugees from the east. Surrendered at Copenhagen ion 9th May 1945. On the 5th January 1946 given to Russia at Libau. Incorporated into the Russian navy as Admiral Makarov. finally  Broken up in 1959
