Greyhound and Mermaid Class Thirty Knot Destroyers. The Greyhound Class consisted of HMS greyhound and HMS Racehorse and HMS Roebuck and the Mermaid Class consisted of HMS Mermaid and HMS Cheerful. Although they were classes built two years apart, they were basically the same design and also the same builder. Built by Hawthorne Leslie. They weighed 355 to 385 tons, , 6,100 HP gave the required thirty knots. armament was a one 12 pounder and Two torpedo tubes. compliment of 63. |
