Ted Key | Warrant Officer Ted Key Joining the RAF in 1943 he qualified as a Flight Engineer and joined No.514 Squadron equipped with Lancasters. From their base at RAF Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire he completed 29 Operations which included raids over Germany and France to disrupt the supply lines for enemy troops in Normandy. He also took part in missions against V-1 and V-2 bomb sites and as the war ended helped drop supplies during Operation Manna plus carry liberated POWs back to England during Operation Exodus. |
