| On 25th August 1892 at Woolwich, the shallow-draft steamer HMS Dove left Woolwich on board the steamship Borrowdale for the Zambesi, from where she would be taken to the upper reaches of the Shire, to maintain communication between Lake Nyassa and Matope. |
