| 5th August 1914 HMS Lance, HMS Landrail and HMS Amphion of the 1st Destroyer Flotilla were on patrol in the North Sea. Off the Dutch coast they encountered the German minelayer, Konigin Luise, and by sinking her made her the first naval casualty of the war. HMS Lance fired the first round in the action, which was the first round fired in the First World War. |

Harwich 17th October 1914 - Took Part in sinking the u-boats U115, U117, U118 and U119 1915 - 9th Destroyer Flotilla 1917 - Transferred to escort duties after 1917. November 1918 - 4th Destroyer Flotilla, Devonport November 1921 - Sold for breaking | |||
