| 3 November 1842 - 8 April 1844 Commanded (from commissioning at Portsmouth) by Commander William Alexander Willis, Frolic served in South America Whilst detached from Frolic and in command of a small pinnace on 6 September 1843 Arthur Cumming and seven men boarded a Portuguese slave ship, subdued her 27-man crew and brought her back to Rio de Janeiro 8 April 1844 - 12 June 1847 Commanded (until paying off at Portsmouth) by Commander Cospatrick Baillie Hamilton, Pacific 7 June 1848 Commanded (from commissioning at Portsmouth) by Commander Nicholas Vansittart, Mediterranean 25 October 1853 - 21 February 185 Commanded (from commissioning at Portsmouth) by Commander Mathew Stainton Nolloth, Cape of Good Hope 21 February 1856 - 6 June 1856 Commanded by Commander John de Courcy Andrew Agnew, Cape of Good Hope 6 June 1856 - 30 July 1857 Commanded (until paying off at Chatham) by Acting Commander Lumley Woodyear Peyton, Cape of Good Hope |
