| A 91 gun Battleship which served in the Crimean War and acted as flagship for Rear Admiral Sir Edmond Lyons. Fitted out and engaged in the first attempt to lay a trans Atlantic telegraph cable and met with her counterpart, USS Niagara, to join both ends together on 29th July 1858. The first British battleship to be designed and built with steam power installed. |
