Flight Commander A. W. Bigsworth Drops A Bomb On A Zeppelin Airship, Severely Damaging It. On May 17th 1915, a Zeppelin airship raided the East Coast, and on her return journey was intercepted by eight British naval aeroplanes from Dunkirk, Flight-Commander Arthur Wellesley Bigsworth, who was piloting one of the machines, rose 200 feet above the airship and dropped a bomb which burst in her compartments, sending her home severely damaged.
