Submarine histories. Royal Navy submarines HMS Otway and HMS Oxley. Submarine website dedicated to the history of HMS Otway and HMS Oxley from launch to participation in major wars also notice board for families of ex-crew of O Class submarines.

HMS Otway was built by Vickers Armstrong and launched 7th September 1926.  completed for the Australian navy and served with the RAN 1927 to 1931. when she was transferred to the Royal Navy. during world war two she served in the Mediterranean.

HMS Oxley was built by Vickers Armstrong and launched 29th June  1926.  completed for the Australian navy and served with the RAN 1927 to 1931. when she was transferred to the Royal Navy. Conflicting reports state  that HMS Oxley was torpedoed by HMS Triton. or was rammed in error by Triton. off the Norwegian Cost. She serve din the Home Flotillas during World war two

Displacement: 1354 tons   Compliment: 55.    Armament: 8 x 21 inch torpedo tubes (6 bow, 2 stern). One 4 inch quick-firing MkIV gun (later MkXII)    Speed: surface speed 15 knots, submerged speed 8.5 knots

Otway  (N,51  ex OA.2) 7th September 1926 Served in the Royal Australian Navy from 1927-31. Finally scrapped in September 1945 at Inverkeithing.
Oxley  (55.P ex. OA.1) 29th June 1926 Served in the Royal Australian Navy from 1927-31. Lost on the 10th September 1939.
