Coast defence ship Valmy (left) and probably Jemappes (right) of the Jemappes Class, at Cherbourg, c.1905.  The two middle ships are Caiman (left) and another of the Terrible Class ships.  We say probably Jemappes because the mast and stern are only slightly different to that of Valmy (whose name is legible on the original card).  if you can confirm this or offer any other possibility, please email is.

Rouler Valmy de bateau de défense (gauche) et probablement Jemappes (la droite) de la Classe de Jemappes, à Cherbourg, le c. 1905. Les deux bateaux de milieu sont Caïmans (gauche) et un autre des bateaux de Classe Terribles. Nous disons probablement que Jemappes parce que le mât et sévère est seulement légèrement différent à cela de Valmy (dont le nom est lisible sur la carte originale).
