Ship Amiral Duperre, Built at La Seyne laid down in January 1877 and launched in September 1879.
commissioned into the French navy in 1883. The Amiral Duperre was a high
freeboard barbette ship, the two Funnels were built abreast and she
eventually had two masts with armed tops. She was well protected below the
waterline but was very vulnerable above and would have been a easy target
for other well armed and protected ships of the day, such as HMS
Inflexible. finally stricken ion 1909

11,30 tons, Crew 660. Speed: 14 knots. Armament: Four 13.4 in
M1875 guns and One 6.4 inch gun. Mk 1881. Fourteen 5.5 in m1870
guns, and eighteen 1 pounder revolvers. Four 14 inch torpedo
Tubes.
