Leberecht Maass class 1934 Type 16 Destroyers, Leberecht Maas Z1, Georg Thiele (Z2) Max Schultz (Z3) Richard Beitzen (Z4) Paul Jacobi (Z5) Paul Jacobi (Z5) Theodor Riedel (Z6) Hermann Schoemann (Z7) Bruno Heinemann (Z8) Wolfgang Zenker (Z9) Hans Lody (Z10) Bernd von Arnim (Z11) Erich Giese (Z12) Erich Koellner (Z13) Friedrich Ihn (Z14)Erich Steinbrinck (Z15) and Friedrich Eckoldt (Z16) Laid down in 1934 / 1935. They were the first German Destroyers to be fitted with Quadruple mounted Torpedo Tubes. Displacement: 2,200 tons Speed: 30 knots, Crew 315 Range: 4,400 miles at 19 knots, Armament: Five 5 -inch guns , Four 37mm AA in pairs, Six 20mm AA guns, Eight Torpedo Tubes. When fitted as a minelayer they carried 60 mine.. |
