GEORGE FRANCIS JONES.. My brother George Francis Jones aged 19
years died when Courageous was torpedoed on 17th September 1939.

JOHN JOSEPH McSWEENEY.. I am searching for information
about my father John Joseph McSweeney. He may well have been known
as John Sweeney, he joined the Royal Navy in 1936. I know he saw
service on HMS Courageous, he told me he was blown out of a porthole when
the ship was struck by a torpedo in the first week of the war in September
1939. I also know that my father was a gunner on boar HMS Rodney and
was on duty when Rodney sund Bismarck. My father passed away on
August 17th 1997. I am looking for anyone who kenw him or may have
information that would be of interest to me. Contact

REGINALD PHILLIPS... My wife's
uncle Reginal Phillips aged 19 died when the HMS Courageous was sunk in
1939. Anyone with any information on him, his service number or how

My father joined the Navy as a 14
year old boy rating. His ship was torpedoed twice during the 2nd war.
I came across a full page article in the local press about the sinking of
HMS Courageous, complete with a photograph of my father and his interview.

THOMAS McGUANE... My Uncle,
Thomas Mc Guane was, a stoker on HMS Courageous
and survived the sinking. I believe he was subsequently
discharged
after spending many hours in the water. Does anybody remember

OAKLEY... My great uncle, Edwin
Oakley was a wireless
operator and navigator on the HMS Courageous in about 1936. The family
have lost
track of him and I was hoping that someone may know what happened to

FRANK
HALL.. My
mother has told me that my father had a half-brother who served in the
navy aboard the HMS Courageous. She tells me that he died when the
ship was sunk during WW2.
His name is Frank Hall and he would probably have been born in
Warwickshire. Can you give me any information about him at all?

GARFIELD WALLIS.. My grandfather was from St Levan in Cornwall
and served as a Petty Officer Stoker on Courageous. I would love further

JAMES RUNNEGAR.. My uncle James was an 18 year old aboard the
Courageous when she was sunk and did not survive. If anyone has any

ALBERT CARTER.. I have just found out that an uncle of mine died
on HMS Courageous in 1939. I don't know the story of the ship or my
uncle and would be glad of any help you can offer. I would like to find
out about him, what he did on board and where he's likely to have died. My
Uncle Albert was from Trimdon in County Durham. I would be most grateful
