HMS Tiger - Battleship

Launched : 15th December 1913

HMS Tiger was the last battlecruiser to have mixed firing for her boilers. The ship could accommodate up to 3,800 tons of fuel oil in her double bottom. The proposed sister-ship HMS Leopard was cancelled. HMS Tiger was so badly damaged at the battle of Dogger Bank in January 1915 that she was reported sunk by German propaganda. She was badly damaged at the Battle of Jutland after being hit ten times but resumed duties with the Battle Cruiser Fleet after repairs. Displacement: 28,430 tons or 35,710 tons deep load. Speed 28 knots, Range 4650 nautical miles. Compliment 1121. Armament: eight 13.5 inch Guns in Pairs. Twelve 6 - inch guns Two 3 -inch Guns four 47mm Guns and Four 21 inch Torpedo Tubes.
