Pertuisane Class French Destroyers.  Photos and history of the early French destroyers of the Pertuisane Class, including Pertuisane, Escopette, Flamberge and Rapiere.

Displacement: 306 tons, Compliment 52   Speed: 26 Knots. Armament: One 65mm Gun and Six 47mm Guns. plus two 150-inch Torpedo Tubes.

Pertuisane 5th December 1900 Stricken 16th March 1923 and broken up 20th April 1928
Escopette 20th December 1900 Stricken 4th April 1921
Flamberge 28th October 1901 Stricken 1st October 1920
Rapiere 16th July 1901 Stricken 27th October 1921

Pertuisane

Pertuisane. launched 5th December 1900. served in the English channel in the ealry part of the war. took part in searching out German U-boat 40 of Le Havre on the 22nd February 1917. but no contact was made. she was removed form the naval lists on 16th march 1923 and scrapped in April 1928.

Escopette

Escopette, launched 20th December 1900, also served in the English Channel and removed form the navy list on the 4th April 1921.

Flamberge

Flamberge.  Launched 28th October 1901 served form 1915 in the Mediterranean and finished the war in Salonika. Removed from naval lists 1st October 1920 and scrapped 8th January 1921.

Rapiere

Rapiere launched 26th July 1901 at the outbreak of the war served with the 3rd Flotilla in Off Northern France and transferred to the patrol Boat Division off Bizerta. Removed form naval lists on 27th October 1921.
