Italian Re Umberto class battleships included Sicilia, Sardegna and Re Umberto.

Displacement: 9886 tons.    Speed: 16knots.   Complement: 507.   Armament: four 17in guns in pairs, two 6 inch guns, four 4.7 inch guns, two 14 inch torpedo tubes.

Re Umberto 17th October 1888 Used as depot ship in Genoa in 1912. Became floating battery during WW1. Scrapped after 1920.
Sicilia 6th July 1891 Became depot ship at Taranto and then as a repair ship. Scrapped after 1923.
Sardegna 20th September 1890 Scrapped after 1923.
Re Umberto

The Re Umberto in dock at Spezia in 1897. Named after the King of Italy was a sister ship of the Sicilia and Sardegna. Re Umberto, Ruggiero di Lauria, Sicilia and Lepanto formed the 1st Division of the Active Squadron.

Sicilia

The Sicilia was one of the newest and most powerful battleships in the Italian Navy in 1897. She was christened by Queen Margherita who, after the benediction, attached a consecrated ring by a ribbon to the stern as the ship entered the water, according to the old Venetian usage of "wedding the ship to the sea".
