Sealion	16th March 1934		Used as a target in March 1945.
Shark	31st May 1934		Lost on 6th June 1940.
Salmon	30th April 1934		Lost on 9th June 1940.
Snapper	25th October 1934		Lost on 12th February 1941.
Seawolf	28th November 1935		Sold in Canada in November 1945.
Spearfish	21st April 1936		Believed sunk by U-34 on 2nd August 1940. (Information from D Morgan)
Sunfish	30th September 1936		Served as a Russian sub (B1) in 1944 and lost on 27th July 1944.
Sterlet	22nd September 1937		Lost 18th April 1940.

HMS Snapper was launched on 25th October 1934 and was lost on 12th February 1941 while in Home waters after returning from duties in the Mediterranean.
Displacement: 670 tons Compliment: 39. Armament: 6 x 21 inch torpedo tubes ( bow, 12 torpedoes). One 3 inch gun. Speed: surface speed 14 knots (Sunfish 15kts), submerged speed 10 knots

My Grandfather served in the Submarine Service for 23 years ad finally on HMS Sterlet before her tragedy. Anyone wishing to collaborate about the incident please get in touch. HMS SPEARFISH... I am looking for information on the sinking of HMS Spearfish which was sunk by U-34. Any help would be welcome. HMS SNAPPER.. 'GINGER' WARR... Served on HMS Snapper. Does anyone have information on the service career of Chief Petty Officer 'Ginger' WARR DSM, on Snapper initially and other submarines in the Mediterranean for his son in Malta, keen to know more about his dad's life. I never did get all the stories form him before he died, as we moved away to Canada. I would like to get information on the history of HMS Sealion and its voyages for his grand children. If anyone can help please contact Phil Brice at JOHN HAMILTON MONAGHAN... I'm writing to advise you of the death of Mr. John Hamilton Monaghan, former torpedoman and distinguished member of the HMS Sealion crew. Mr. Monaghan died last week (February 2004) in Scottsdale, Arizona at age 78 following a protracted illness of Lung cancer. He lived a life of distinguised service to his community that paralleled his selfless service on SeaLion. He is survived by his Wife, Helen, son Frank, and daughter, Maureen of Dearborn, Michigan, and daughters, Joan Novelly, and Catherine H. Monaghan of Scottsdale and Irvine, Ca. respectively. Services for Mr. Monaghan will be conducted tomorrow Tuesday 2/24/04 1PM at Saint Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Scottsdale, Arizona. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, Az 85014 or the American Lung Cancer Association. Anyone requesting information may contact Mr. Bruce Mueller
