Russian civilian ship Kosmonaut Yury Gagarin.
Taken from RFA Grey Rover, North Atlantic, May 1985.
This ship was used for investigation into
conditions in the upper atmosphere, and also for the control of space
vehicles, and was completed in 1971.

Photograph on a French postcard dated 1904, of a
group of Russian marines from the ship 'Smolensk'. The only
Smolensk ships we know of were later than this date, and were cancelled
during construction, so any help with this photo would be appreciated.
