Class Submarines of the Royal Navy. Photographs and history of the
Opossum Class Submarines of the Royal Navy, launched 1959 - 1966.
The class included HMS Oberon, HMS Odin, HMS Orpheus, HMS Olympus, HMS
Osiris, HMS Onslaught, HMS Otter, HMS Oracle, HMS Ocelot, HMS Otus, HMS
Opossum, HMS Opportune and HMS Onyx.
Displacement: 1610 tons,
Normal, to 2030 tons/ 2410 tons submerged. Speed: 12Knots, submerged
and 17Knots on the surface. . Crew: 64 Armament:
Eight 21inch Torpedo Tubes, (carrying 30 torpedoes.)
