Merchant Navy. Although this
site is dedicated to the ships and crew of naval ships, we did not want
to ignore the importance of the Merchant Naval ships and crews.
Information is provided here on the Merchant ships of all countries,
including photos and ship details, as well as any information we can
find on crews.
We are looking for more information on the Merchant
Navy and photos of crew and ships. Currently, we have listed all
British WWII Merchant and Fishing Vessels lost or damaged. These
lists can be seen in our naval losses section by clicking
here
Merchant vessel SS Chimborazo in Mort's Dock,
Sydney, after running aground at the entrance to Jervis Bay in 1878.
The vessel was en route from Melbourne to
Sydney. We believe the photo was taken on 11th May that year.
Everything
we obtain for this site is shown on the site, we do not have any more
photos, crew lists or further information on any of the ships
