Los Angeles Class 

The Los Angeles Class nuclear Submarine is a  very large size submarine (6,000 tons.) mostly due tot he doubling of the Nuclear reactor power plant.  The Los Angeles Class nuclear Submarine Class was started in 1968 with the first completed nuclear submarine  USS Los Angeles being completed on the 13th November 1973.  The entire class of  of 64 submarines were either built by Newport News or The Electric Boat company. 

Since the middle of the 1990's some of this class have been put into reserve with some being scrapped.
