| USS Iwo Jima (LPH2) |
17th September 1960 |
Served in Vietnam in 1963 then moved to Atlantic Fleet. |
| USS Okinawa (LPH3) |
19th August 1961 |
Served in Vietnam from March 1967. Okinawa recovered the
space capsule from the Apollo VI mission. Served in the Pacific Fleet. |
| USS Guadalcanal (LPH7) |
1st August 1962 |
Recovered the Gemini X in July 1966 then moved to the
Atlantic Fleet. |
| USS Guam (LPH9) |
22nd August 1964 |
Served in the Caribbean 1965-66 with the Amphibious Ready
Squadron. She became a test ship from 1967-74 and took part in the Grenada
invasion in October 1983. Moved to Atlantic Fleet. |
| USS Tripoli (LPH10) |
31st July 1975 |
Served in Vietnam from 1967 and took part in Operation
Endsweep in 1973 to clear mines in Vietnamese waters. Joined Pacific
Fleet. |
| USS New Orleans (LPH11) |
3rd February 1968 |
Joined Pacific Fleet. |
| USS Inchon (LPH12) |
24th May 1969 |
Joined Atlantic Fleet. |
