Protected cruiser of the Japanese Navy Idzumi, initially built for Italian navy in 1883 and then purchased by the Japanese Navy two years later.  Photographs and history of the protected cruiser Idzumi.

Japanese Cruiser Idzumi  was initially to be called Esmeralda in the Chilean navy but purchased by Japan in 1895.

Built  at the Elswick Yard
