History of the German Battleships of
the Hindenburg class dreadnought battleships of the Imperial German Navy
during world War I. None of this Class of ship was completed. The
Mackensen launched on the 21st April 1917 work suspended few months later
and broken up at Kiel. The Graf Spee launched on the 15th September
1917, work suspended the following month and was broken up in 1922 at
Kiel. Prinz Eitel Friedrich was still on the stocks when work was
suspended and was broekn up on the stocks in 1921. same applies to
the fourth ship of the class Furst Bismarck.
The
Dispalcement of these battleships was 31,000 tons, with a projected speed
of 27 knots. Armament was eight 14-inch guns in pairs and fourteen
5.9-inch guns in single gun turrets. Eight 3.4 -inch AA Guns and five
24-inch torpedo tubes. All submerged.
