Displacement: 10,000 tons Speed: 32kt Complement: 850 Armament: Twelve 6 inch guns in threes. Twelve 4 inch anti-aircraft guns in pairs and sixteen 2pdr anti-aircraft guns in mounts of eight as well as eight 0.5 inch machine guns in pairs. Six 21 inch torpedo tubes in threes and 3 aircraft. |

HMS Belfast pictured c.1953 I served on the Belfast throughout the Korean war, from 1950 to 1953 in fact, and she did not have the lattice masts fitted until we delivered her to Devonport dockyard for conversion for nuclear warfare in 1953, when they stripped the old 'open' Bridge from her, together with the tripod masts, and converted her to 'as you see her today.
