REG HALL... Hi, my name is Morgan Fisher and I am doing some
research on my great uncles naval history. His name was Reg Hall and
served on
the HMS Duke of York for 18 months towards the end of the war. Any
Information
on him would be fantastic. He also served on HMS Courageous, HMS Port
Napier,
HMS Garth and HMS Hardy. Apparently he was aboard all these when they
sunk and
survived. He was also a volunteer to help unload the burning HMS Port
Napier (
carrying ammunition ) ; when she blew the ships funnel was blown clear
of the
nearby Scottish village and imbedded into the side of a mountain. Again
apparently there is a plaque where the funnel landed with Reg's name and
the
other four volunteers names on it. Any information any one has on any of
this
please let me know. Best regards Morgan Fisher morgstan@dcsi.net.au

He is now 93 years of age and often talks of his time on board

laser print made of the ship from the library and he was delighted with
it. Apparently his father helped build this ship in John Brown's
shipyard. He would be
delighted to hear news of anyone he knew. please contact margaret at george@gtassie.freeserve.co.uk
