My late father in law served on the Oxlip during the early 40's on the Murmansk runs. His name was Wilfred Thomas Brash and survived the war but was badly burned. I believe he was blown up and got burned badly and spent a long time in hospitals. I have a picture of the Chief Stoker of the Oxlip, Stoker P.O. Mickey Hogan (shown left now dec). Not sure when he died whether it was in combat or natural causes many years later.

His war grave inscription lists no family, he didn't know he had one having spent all his childhood life in workhouses and children's homes. Any information on Able Seaman Arthur Payne would be gratefully received. contact E C Bowring. Details to follow.

I am trying to trace the history, and if possible plans / drawings of my boat, which was designed in 1910/1911 by one Arthur Edward Payne Jnr RINA RNVR, son of Arthur Edward Payne RINA of the firm of Summers & Payne, Southampton. I am wondering if this is any relation to the above.
