HMS CAROLINE

As the current commanding officer of this ship, I am interested in building up a catalogue of existing photographs for display onboard.  If anyone has any image, please contact:   Contact Here

HMS CLEOPATRA

I have a question to ask; Can anyone help me with my research??  My grandfather was in the navy from around 1924-5 and served on a ship called Cleopatra during WWII - it was on this ship he was injured and spent around 6months in Toronto Hospital (Canada) with burns (1944/45's).  He was an engine stoker - from childhood memory?? and was torpedoed once I believe by an Italian sub?? and hit by a plane------- I think this is when he was injured??   NOW-- I thought he was in the merchant navy (he signed up at Chatham, Kent, england) as he told me stories as a young child of the Italian sub surrendered to his ship after torpedeoing them and the captain was only about 17??   His marriage certificate states his occupation as 'Sailor RN' - would this be correct for someone in the merchant navy??  He boxed in the navy under the name 'Cheese Eye' real name James Marshall  Thanks for your interest,  John.  contact here

Everything we obtain for this site is shown on the site, we do not have any more photos, crew lists or further information on any of the ships
